What Should I Bring?
Bringing the correct documentation with you to your appointment is very important. Please carefully review the list below to make sure you have everything.
Everyone will need:
This is a list of items that everyone will need to bring to their appointment. For more specific information, scroll to the bottom of the page. Individuals who have a Schedule C Tax Form will need to bring additional information.
Family Members
If you are filing "Married Filing Jointly", both spouses need to be physically present at your appointment. Dependents do not need to be present, but you will still need documentation to claim them on your return.
Identification
Bring Government-issued photo identification for both you and your spouse, such as a Driver's License or Passport. Bring Social Security Cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) documents for you, your spouse, and/or your dependents. Make sure you also have birthdates for yourself, your spouse, and/or your dependents. We cannot emphasize enough that you HAVE to bring your Social Security card to confirm your identity, without this, we are unable to proceed with your return.
Tax Forms
Bring either a printed or legible digital copy of all of your W-2 and 1099 tax forms. Please also bring any other tax forms you may have received, either by mail or digitally. This might include but is not limited to: 1095-A, 1095-B, 1095-C, or 1098-T. If you are unsure, still bring it so we can help you.
Bank Account
In order to have your refund directly deposited into your account, you will need to bring proof of your account, the account number, and your bank's routing number. This information can be digital or printed. Please note we cannot issue refunds through debit cards. Also note that starting this tax year, the Treasury Department has discontinued issuing paper checks. You MUST use a bank account to get your refund. If you do not have one, you should open one PRIOR to booking an appointment.
Information
Bring information for all deductions and credits, including your charitable contributions. Also, bring with you any information for income unrelated to your other tax forms. If you have a copy of your tax return from last year, you can bring that too (this is not required but is helpful).
