UofU Free Tax Clinic
Welcome to the
University of Utah Free Tax Clinic!
We will be doing taxes starting Feb 7-April 11
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Our clinic is operated under the IRS VITA program. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is a community-driven initiative by the IRS that provides free tax help to individuals who need assistance in preparing their tax returns. Our certified student volunteers offer expert tax preparation services for those with low-to-moderate incomes (generally those earning less than $67,000), people with disabilities, the elderly, and taxpayers with limited English proficiency. We are committed to ensuring every community member receives the tax support they need to maximize their refunds and stay compliant with tax laws.

With VITA, you’ll receive accurate, confidential, and no-cost assistance from trained students who care about your financial well-being.

We are able to file taxes for residents and non-residents on F1 and J1 visas. If you need other assistance please use the IRS VITA locator to find a site that fits your needs.
